Background: The Legislative Budget Committee (LBC) is a statutorily created joint committee of the Washington State Legislature which performs various legislative oversight activities including program evaluations, performance audits, Sunset Act program reviews, and policy studies.
The LBC is requesting to change the name of the committee. LBC Members indicate that the name of the committee should more accurately reflect the committee's purpose and scope of authority.
Summary of Bill: All statutory references to the Legislative Budget Committee are changed to the Legislative Audit Committee.
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Requested on March 6, 1995.
Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
