Background: Cities, towns, and counties are authorized by a general statute to publish section-by-section summaries of ordinances. Cities and towns are also authorized by specific statutes to publish summaries of ordinances and the titles of ordinances authorizing the issuance of debt.
Counties do not have the authority to publish the title of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of debt.
Summary of Bill: Counties may publish the title of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of debt rather than a section-by-section summary of the ordinance.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
Testimony For: This will eliminate some confusion pertaining to city publication requirements. Counties will realize some cost-savings.
