Background:  When a document is offered to the county auditor for recording, current law mandates that the auditor return the document either to the party who delivered it to the auditor or to that party's designee.

Summary of Bill:  The auditor is given discretion to deliver the document either to the party who delivered it to the auditor or to that party's designee.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
