Background:  In 1971, the Legislature authorized county legislative authorities to reward safe performance of assigned duties by county employees.  The schedule of awards has never been updated (e.g., five accident-free years = $2.50)!

 

Summary of Bill:  The schedule of awards for safe performance of assigned duties by county employees is eliminated.  Counties may give awards they deem appropriate.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
