Background:  Over 800,000 people in Washington State are recreational fishers. 

 

Many recreational fishers would like to have an advocate for their interests to be employed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

 

Summary of Bill:  The position of recreational administrator is created within the Department of Fish and Wildlife.  The administrator must further the development of recreational fishing.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Requested on February 17, 1995.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
