Majority Report:  That Substitute Senate Bill No. 5183 be substituted therefor, and the substitute bill do pass.

Background:  Some county statutes still contain duplicative provisions, archaic language and references to record-keeping techniques no longer practiced.

 

Only travel expenses may be paid by charge card.

 

Summary of Substitute Bill:  The terms used for county government are modernized in sections concerning the county auditor, prosecuting attorney, county commissioners, county finances and county road engineer records.

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill:  The authorization for municipalities to pay reasonable and necessary municipal expenses by charge card is removed.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
