Title:  An act relating to temporary locations for firearms dealers.

 

Brief Description:  Allowing gun dealers more choice of temporary locations.

Background:  Generally, dealers may only conduct business in the building designated in their dealer's license.  A dealer may temporarily conduct business outside of the building designated in the license, if the temporary location is within the state of Washington and the location is at a gun show sponsored by an organization devoted to the collection, competitive use, or other sporting use of firearms in the community.  In no event may a dealer conduct business from a motorized or towed vehicle.

 

Summary of Bill:  Places where a dealer may temporarily conduct business are expanded.  In addition to conducting temporary business at a gun show, a dealer may temporarily conduct business at a gun club, competitive shooting event, and from a motorized or towed vehicle at a competitive shooting event sponsored by an organization devoted to the collection, competitive use, or other sporting use of firearms in the community.

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
