Background:  Terms of fish and wildlife commissioners are not limited. 

 

Summary of Substitute Bill:  Fish and wildlife commissioners are limited to no more than 12 years of service.

 

Substitute Bill Compared to Original Bill:  Wildlife commissioners' terms are reduced to four years from six years; total service is limited to 12 years.

 

Appropriation:  None.

 

Fiscal Note:  Not requested.

 

Effective Date:  Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.

 

Testimony For:  Legislators have term limits; commissioners should also have term limits.  Six-year terms should be reduced to four years.
