Notifying parents of their children's driver's license suspensions.



    AN ACT Relating to notice of actions against a juvenile's driver's license; and adding a new section to chapter 46.20 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.20 RCW to read as follows:

    Whenever the department takes action under this title or other law to suspend, revoke, restrict, or condition the driver's license or driving privilege of a person under eighteen years of age who is not emancipated from his or her parent, parents, or guardian, the department shall mail a copy of notice of the action to the minor's parent, parents, or guardian residing at the same address as the minor.
