Requiring local government approval of housing authority facility acquisitions with ten or more housing units.

    AN ACT Relating to cities or counties approving new housing authority facilities; and adding a new section to chapter 35.82 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 35.82 RCW to read as follows:

    The governing body of a city must approve the acquisition or construction of any residential facility by a housing authority, if the facility consists of a building with ten or more housing units and is located in the city.  The county legislative authority of a county must approve the acquisition or construction of any residential facility by a housing authority, if the facility consists of a building with ten or more housing units and is located in the unincorporated area of the county.
