Providing additional educational opportunities for students.

    AN ACT Relating to providing additional educational opportunities for students; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.150 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.150 RCW to read as follows:

    The board of directors of school districts may contract with nonsectarian schools and organizations to provide educational services for district students, including students who have been suspended or expelled or who have been subject to disciplinary actions due to behavioral problems.  The school district shall receive the same level of funding from the state as if the student were enrolled in the school district's educational program.
