Withdrawing consent for future acquisition of land by the United States.



    AN ACT Relating to acquisition of land by the United States; and amending RCW 37.04.010 and 37.04.030.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    Sec. 1.  RCW 37.04.010 and 1939 c 126 s 1 are each amended to read as follows:

    The consent of this state is hereby ((given to the)) withdrawn to any future acquisition by the United States, or under its authority, by purchase, lease, condemnation, or otherwise, of any land acquired((, or to be acquired,)) in this state by the United States, from any individual, body politic or corporate, as sites for forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings or for any other purpose whatsoever.  The evidence of title to such land shall be recorded as in other cases.

 

    Sec. 2.  RCW 37.04.030 and 1939 c 126 s 3 are each amended to read as follows:

    The state of Washington hereby expressly reserves such jurisdiction and authority over land acquired ((or to be acquired)) by the United States as aforesaid as is not inconsistent with the jurisdiction ceded to the United States by virtue of such acquisition.
