Clarifying an unemployment compensation exemption for independent contractors or outside agents who sell or arrange for travel services.

    AN ACT Relating to independent contractors or outside agents who sell or arrange for travel services; and adding a new section to chapter 50.04 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 50.04 RCW to read as follows:

    Services provided by an independent contractor or outside agent who sells or arranges for travel services, as defined in RCW 19.138.021, shall be deemed as employment if the independent contractor or outside agent meets either of the exemption tests in RCW 50.04.140.
