AN ACT Relating to caretaker recipients of public assistance; and adding a new section to chapter 74.12 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 74.12 RCW to read as follows:
All caretaker recipients of assistance under this chapter shall, as a condition of eligibility, agree to participate in a parenting seminar. The seminar shall be contracted for by the department with an individual or organization qualified to address all aspects of positive parenting. The recipient's monthly benefit payment shall be reduced by thirty-five dollars in the month before attending the seminar to pay the cost of the parenting seminar.
