AN ACT Relating to notifying the assessor's office when actions are taken relating to real property; adding a new section to chapter 35.21 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 36.32 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 35.21 RCW to read as follows:
Each city or town, including a code city, shall notify the county assessor's office within five working days of taking any of the following actions affecting a parcel or parcels of real property:
(1) Identifying a wetland on the property;
(2) Identifying the location of the property in a critical area under chapter 36.70A RCW;
(3) Altering land use restrictions on the property;
(4) Approving a short plat, preliminary plat, or final plat of the property;
(5) Approving a condominium or a binding site plan of the property that is exempt from the normal requirements under chapter 58.17 RCW on dividing property;
(6) Issuing a building permit for construction on the property; or
(7) Approving or issuing any other permit or application authorizing any improvements to the property.
The notice shall be in writing, shall be dated, shall describe the action taken by the city or town, and shall identify the property by providing its tax parcel number, address, legal description, or describe its location.
