Requiring the department of health to develop guidelines to establish a fee schedule for school inspections by local health jurisdictions.

     AN ACT Relating to school inspections; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  Within thirty days of the effective date of this act, the department of health shall develop guidelines to establish a fee schedule for school inspections required by RCW 43.20.050 and carried out by local health jurisdictions.  In developing the schedule, the department shall take into consideration the size of the school and the number of individual school buildings to be inspected.  The schedule must provide that no school may be charged more than three hundred dollars per year for all inspections performed pursuant to RCW 43.20.050.
