Exempting from use tax naval equipment transferred due to base closure.

    AN ACT Relating to use tax on aircraft training equipment transferred to Washington state as a result of base closure; adding a new section to chapter 82.12 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 82.12 RCW to read as follows:

    The provisions of this chapter shall not apply in respect to the use of naval aircraft training equipment transferred to Washington state from another naval installation in another state as a result of the base closure act, P.L. 101-510, as amended by P.L. 102-311, 102-484, 103-160, 103-337, and 103-421.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
