Authorizing gambling devices if they are authorized on Indian or federal lands.



    AN ACT Relating to gambling devices; adding a new section to chapter 9.46 RCW; creating a new section; and repealing RCW 9.46.235.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  The legislature finds that any entity holding a gambling license will be adversely affected by the introduction into the state of any slot machine, video pull-tab, video poker, or other electronic game of chance.  The legislature further finds that if any federally recognized Indian tribe is authorized the use of these devices by federal court judgment or decree, these gaming devices should also be made available to any entity holding a gambling license.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 9.46 RCW to read as follows:

    The commission may adopt rules governing the use of gambling devices if gambling devices are authorized on Indian or federal lands.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 3.  RCW 9.46.235 and 1994 c 218 s 15, 1987 c 191 s 1, & 1977 ex.s. c 165 s 1 are each repealed.
