Paying county fees by credit cards.

     AN ACT Relating to the payment of fees to the county by credit card; and adding a new section to chapter 36.01 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.01 RCW to read as follows:

     In the payment of any fees imposed by the state and collected by the county or imposed and collected by local county ordinance or resolution, the county may accept in lieu of cash, a credit or debit card issued by a bank or other financial institution, if the bank or financial institution guarantees full payment of the amount due, without discount or other cost or charge, to the county, or if the person using the credit or debit card agrees to pay, in addition to any fee, the cost or charge imposed by the bank or financial institution for use of the credit or debit card.
