Prohibiting the purchase or consumption of liquor on licensed premises by persons apparently under the influence of liquor.



    AN ACT Relating to alcoholic beverages; adding a new section to chapter 66.44 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 66.44 RCW to read as follows:

    (1) No person apparently under the influence of liquor may purchase or consume liquor on any premises licensed by the board.

    (2) A person's intoxication may not be used as a defense in a prosecution under this section.

    (3) A violation of this section is a misdemeanor punishable as provided in RCW 66.44.180.
