AN ACT Relating to food fish and shellfish license requirements; and adding new sections to chapter 75.08 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 75.08 RCW to read as follows:
The department shall include steelhead trout as a species for which fishing licenses are not required during free fishing weekends established by the department.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. A new section is added to chapter 75.08 RCW to read as follows:
The department shall establish a free shellfish digging weekend during which a personal use shellfish and seaweed license is not required to dig for shellfish for personal use. The free shellfish digging weekend may not be on the same weekend as the free fishing weekend established by the department.
