Establishing a joint select committee on oral health care.

    WHEREAS, Oral health is important to the people of the state; and

    WHEREAS, Access to dental and dental hygiene services is important for the overall health and well-being of all individuals;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Senate of the state of Washington, the House of Representatives concurring, That a joint select committee on oral health care be established to identify barriers to access to oral health care services, including financial, regulatory, and administrative barriers, and to recommend potential solutions for the removal of such barriers; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the committee consist of eight members, two members each selected by the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives, two members selected by a state-wide organization representing dentists, and two members selected by a state-wide organization representing dental hygienists; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the committee report its findings to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature by December 1, 1996.
