Authorizing the Washington state historical society to work with the Lewis and Clark trail committee in developing activities to commemorate the Lewis and Clark trail bicentennial.



    AN ACT Relating to the Lewis and Clark trail bicentennial commemoration; and adding a new section to chapter 27.34 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 27.34 RCW to read as follows:

    (1) The Washington state historical society shall work with and provide leadership to the Lewis and Clark trail committee in planning activities to commemorate Lewis and Clark's epic exploration to the northwest United States.

    (2) The society shall coordinate its planning efforts with the parks and recreation commission, which provides staffing and administrative assistance to the Lewis and Clark trail committee.

    (3) The society shall work with other associations and state agencies to coordinate, develop, and disseminate information regarding the planned activities.
