Penalizing defacement of a state monument.



    AN ACT Relating to defacement of state monuments; adding a new section to chapter 9A.48 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 9A.48 RCW to read as follows:

    (1) A person is guilty of defacing a state monument if he or she knowingly defaces a monument or memorial on the state capitol campus or other state property.

    (2) Defacing a state monument is a misdemeanor.
