HB 1172-S - DIGEST

(DIGEST OF PROPOSED 1ST SUBSTITUTE)

     Requires the board of directors of a school district to make available to a parent any educational program and all instructional materials for all exceptional school components.

     Provides that a student may not be placed in an experimental, special, or pilot class without the written consent of a parent.

     Declares that a parent has the right to expect that a student will receive a basic education.

     Provides parents with the right to redress.
