     Directs the department to cease to administer chapter 49.78 RCW on the effective date of the act, and until the effective date of the repeal of the federal family and medical leave act or one year following the amendment of the federal law, whichever is earlier.

     Retains the state requirement that an employee be returned to a job within twenty miles of the original workplace.
