HB 1524-S - DIGEST

(SUBSTITUTED FOR - SEE 2ND SUB)

     Prohibits the use of a weighing or measuring instrument or device unless its commercial use is registered annually.

     Directs the department to test a sufficient number of instruments each biennium to ensure that the provisions of chapter 19.94 RCW are enforced.

     Authorizes the establishment of reasonable inspection and testing fees.

     Provides for the issuance of an official registration certificate to service agents.

     Establishes civil penalties for violations of the act.

     Repeals RCW 19.94.175.

     Makes an appropriation of seventy-five thousand dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.
