HB 1767 - DIGEST

     Declares an intent to strengthen consumer warranties, to create a fund from which consumers may be compensated for deficiencies, and to set up procedures by which claims can be filed and acted upon without resort to courts or governmental agencies.

     Establishes the manufactured housing recovery fund.

     Creates a nonprofit, unincorporated, legal entity to be known as the manufactured housing recovery fund association.

     Provides that membership in good standing in the recovery fund shall be a condition of a manufacturer's license to do business in the state.
