HB 2217 - DIGEST

(SUBSTITUTED FOR - SEE 2ND SUB)

     Requires the parents of a child placed in a crisis residential center to contribute fifty dollars per day, for not more than five consecutive days, for the expense of the placement, subject to the ability to pay.

     Establishes procedures to assist families to cope with the problems presented by habitual runaways.

     Requires providers of treatment to a minor to notify the parents.

     Provides that the failure of a person who provides shelter to a minor to give the required notice to the parents is a misdemeanor offense.
