HB 2249 - DIGEST

 

     Requires a governmental entity to pay compensation to the owner of real property when it causes a regulatory taking of any part of the property.

     Designates situations when compensation is not required.

     Limits the compensation to any landowner to no more than four hundred thousand dollars.

     Requires the property owner receiving compensation to deliver a title to whatever portion of the property represents the interest that was taken.

     Establishes procedures for initiating and hearing a request from a property owner for compensation.
