     Includes county jail inmates in the notice requirements.

     Requires the chief law enforcement officer to notify the sheriff of the county where a sex offender intends to locate when an offender is to be released from jail.

     Prescribes a fourteen day notice before release.

     Requires DOC to implement a policy, no later than September 1, 1996, governing the department's evaluation and approval of release plans for sex offenders.

     Requires DOC to obtain public input on potential safety risks prior to release.

     Imposes specific requirements for offenders convicted of felony sex offenses against a minor victim.
