HB 2905 - DIGEST

     Declares that any county shall have the power to create an open space protection district for the purpose of purchasing, financing, acquiring, and maintaining development rights under RCW 84.34.210, which shall be owned by the district.

     Provides that districts may be initiated in any unincorporated area of any county by a petition signed by ten percent of the registered voters within the proposed district.

     Designates procedures for the formation of a district by election.

     Authorizes the district to establish property tax levies with approval of the voters.
