SB 5480 - DIGEST

     Declares an intent to enhance the ability of law enforcement, courts, and parents to keep families together and reunite them whenever possible.

     Provides additional resources to local communities and law enforcement to assist them in picking up and dealing with runaways.

     Assists local communities to provide immediate placement resources for those children who are at greatest risk.

     Creates an intensive treatment system for children whose behaviors put them at serious risk of harm.

     Authorizes counties to assemble a multidisciplinary team to make every reasonable effort to protect the child and achieve a reconciliation of the family whenever possible.

     Repeals RCW 13.32A.100 and 13.32A.120.
