SB 5574 - DIGEST

(SUBSTITUTED FOR - SEE 2ND SUB)

     Provides counties with an option to reacquire total control of all or part of state forest board transfer lands, within their respective boundaries, that are being administered by the department of natural resources.

     Requires the lands to be kept in commercial forest status.

     Requires the counties to pay to the department a fee of no more than three dollars per acre for ten years for reacquired lands.
