SB 5585 - DIGEST
Provides limits on campaign contributions and provides incentives for candidates to voluntarily limit their own campaign spending.
Requires candidates for state office to sign and file a statement of acceptance or rejection of the voluntary expenditure limits specified in the act.
Directs the secretary of state to indicate in the voter's pamphlet whether a candidate has accepted or rejected the spending limits.
Declares that violation of the act may result in having the election declared null and void.
Enhances the civil penalties for violations of the act.
Provides for future revisions in the campaign limits.
