(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

     Authorizes the secretary of state to propose an alternative date for the presidential primary.

     Authorizes the state committee of any major political party to propose an alternative date.

     Provides for acceptance or rejection of the date by a committee no later than October 1 of the year preceding a presidential election.

     Requires the primary to be conducted in substantially the same manner as a state partisan primary.

     Provides for the allocation of delegates to the national convention.

     Authorizes payment of primary costs by the state, subject to funding.

     Repeals RCW 29.19.040, 29.19.050, and 29.19.060.
