SB 6040 - DIGEST

     Authorizes the commissioner to recommend to interested parties ways in which purchasing groups can develop, encourage, and provide incentives for employee wellness programs.

     Authorizes the department of labor and industries to conduct pilot projects to purchase medical services for injured workers through health care coverage arrangements.

     Requires subscriber-purchasing groups to obtain a certificate of authority to operate in the state.

     Revises requirements for employers to secure the payment of compensation under chapter 51.16 RCW.

     Establishes formulas for the computation of credits against tax liabilities under chapter 82.04 RCW for employers with fewer than twenty-five full-time equivalent employees.
