SB 6041 - DIGEST

 

     Terminates the health services commission on January 1, 1996, and transfers the powers and duties not repealed to other state agencies.

     Creates the joint committee on health systems oversight.

     Requires health carriers offering health plans to offer the standard benefits package to residents at the minimum level of coverage and at a standardized rate basis.

     Designates a standard benefits package design.

     Designates the required elements of a long-term care and support system, including two pilot projects to be referred to as the life care pilot projects.

     Requires a study of the implementation of the act and a report by July 1, 2003.

     Directs the legislative budget committee to conduct a feasibility study of contracting out the administration of juvenile and adult inmate health care services.

     Repeals RCW 43.72.020.
