(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

     Revises procedures for the semiannual payment of property taxes.

     Grants the military service personnel of Joint Endeavor an ability to avoid interest and penalties on delinquent taxes.

     Authorizes county treasurers to accept credit cards, charge cards, debit cards, federal wire, automatic clearing house system transactions, or other electronic communications for a payment of any kind.

     Requires a payer to bear the cost of processing the transaction.

     Becomes effective for taxes levied for collection in 1997.
