SB 6193 - DIGEST

     Creates the department of children and family services and transfers DSHS duties pertaining to juvenile rehabilitation, aging and adult services, and children, youth, and family services to the new department.

     Creates the department of public welfare and transfers DSHS duties pertaining to public assistance to the new department.

     Creates the department of medical and rehabilitative services and transfers DSHS duties pertaining to medical health and rehabilitation and medical assistance to the new department.

     Creates the department of centralized services and transfers DSHS duties pertaining to management services, including budget and computer services, research and planning, legislative and community relations, and constituent relations to the new department.

     Transfers the duties of DSHS pertaining to the office of special investigations to the office of the attorney general.

     Provides for liaison with the federal government to continue funding.

     Repeals chapter 70.190 RCW, Family Policy Council.
