SB 6737 - DIGEST

     Requires a study of the availability of organized athletic opportunities for girls below the age of thirteen to be conducted.

     Requires the study to examine whether the availability of opportunities is affected by income, ethnicity, or race.

     Requires the study to include an examination of whether there is a statistical relationship between the lack of organized athletic opportunities and the risk factors and behaviors utilized by the community public health and safety networks in the areas studied.

     Requires the study to be presented to the legislature and the governor by January 1, 1998.

     Makes an appropriation of forty-nine thousand five hundred dollars for the purposes of this act.
