SB 6752 - DIGEST
Adopts revisions to the 1977 juvenile justice act emphasizing juvenile and parental accountability and encouraging early and effective intervention in the lives of juveniles at risk to become runaways, truants, or criminal offenders.
Requires attendance by a parent or guardian at a dispositional or adjudicatory hearing for a juvenile.
Provides that a failure to attend the hearing may be proceeded against as for contempt of court.
Requires that, in all disposition orders that include commitment to the department, the court shall make a finding of reasonable rehabilitative goals to be achieved by the juvenile during the commitment term.
Revises provisions for the juvenile disposition guidelines committee.
Revises juvenile sentencing standards.
