SB 6781 - DIGEST

     Provides that, beginning in calendar year 1998, ten percent of the property taxes collected by the state for the support of common schools in the previous year shall be distributed to the school districts in the state to replace any levy for maintenance and operation that has been approved by the voters under RCW 84.52.053.  This percentage shall increase to twenty percent in 1999, thirty percent in 2000, forty percent in 2001, fifty percent in 2002, sixty percent in 2003, seventy percent in 2004, eighty percent in 2005, ninety percent in 2006, and one hundred percent in 2007 and thereafter.
