    On page 2, line 24, after "drug" strike "from" and insert "between"

 

    On page 2, line 25, after "practitioner" strike "to" and insert "and"

 

 

 

    EFFECT:  In order to promote patient safety, it will be necessary for pharmacists to be able to communicate with prescribing practitioners.  This amendment allows the flow of information to go both ways.

    On page 3, line 19, after "choice" insert "with no intervening person having access to the prescription drug order"

 

 

 

    EFFECT:  To protect the partnership between patient, practitioner and pharmacist, it is necessary that no outside, third party have access to the prescription drug order.  The language inserted reflects model language as developed by the National Association of Board's of Pharmacy.
