     On page 4, beginning on line 6, strike all material on lines 6 through 12 and insert the following: 

ABy December 1 of 1998, and biennially thereafter, the state board of education shall prepare a report on the number and percentage of candidates who are successful in passing the assessments for certification required under section 2 of this act.  The information shall be reported for the individual public and private colleges and universities in Washington as well as reported on an aggregate basis.  The report shall also include results dis-aggregated demographically.  The report is to be made available through the state library and placed on the legislative alert list.@

EFFECT: The required report is biennial instead of annual. The report will be available through the state library and will be placed on the legislative alert list, rather than being provided to the legislature directly.
