     On page 3, line 18, after Aequitable@ insert A.  The board shall also study the likely effects of section 1 of this act, and shall make recommendations accordingly@

     On page 3, after line 21, insert:

ANEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  Section 1 of this act shall take effect July 1, 1999.@

     Correct the title.

EFFECT: The changes made by section 1 (regarding changing school district boundaries) take effect July 1, 1999.  The State Board is to study the likely effects of section 1 and make recommendations to the legislature (by September 1, 1998).
