     On page 2, before line 13, insert:

ANew Section. Sec. 3.  When the ombudsman or ombudsman=s staff member has reasonable cause to believe that any public official, employee or other person has acted in a manner warranting criminal or disciplinary proceedings, the ombudsman or ombudsman=s staff member shall report the matter, or cause a report to be made, to the appropriate authorities.@

     Renumber the remaining sections consecutively.

EFFECT: Requires the ombudsman or his or her staff to make a report to appropriate authorities when he or she has reasonable cause to believe that any public official, employee, or other person has acted in a way to warrant disciplinary proceedings.
