     On page 2, line 11, after Aactivity;@ insert the following:

WHEREAS, It is the intent of the Washington State Legislature  to appoint four members of the Legislature to a tristate committee dealing with interstate public assistance fraud, to consist of one member each from the majority and minority caucuses of both the house and senate, for the purpose of meeting at least once prior to November 1, 1997;@

Effect: Declares intent of the Legislature to appoint one member of each caucus of the house and senate to a tristate committee on interstate public assistance fraud, and to meet at least once this year.
