     On page 32, line 33, decrease the general fund-state appropriation for fiscal year 1998 by $6,612,000

     On page 32, line 34, decrease the general fund-state appropriation for fiscal year 1999 by $5,181,000

     On page 32, line 35, decrease the general fund-federal appropriation by $12,644,000

     Correct the total accordingly.

     On page 35, after line 10, insert A(6) The department shall contract for the care of a minimum of 180 persons in enhanced adult residential care.  These shall be persons who formerly received care at a nursing facility. A

EFFECT: Assumes a lower average nursing home census during the 1997-99 biennium and a reduction of 480 persons in the statewide nursing facility census.  Also requires DSHS to contract for services for a minimum of 180 persons at the enhanced adult residential care treatment level.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Reduces General Fund-State by $11,793,000.

Reduces Other Funds by $12,644,000.
