On page 54, line 4, increase the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1998 by $143,000

On page 54, line 5, increase the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1999 by $140,000

On page 54, line 6, increase the general fund--private/local appropriation by $228,000

Correct the total appropriation accordingly.

On page 54, strike lines 9 through 18 and insert the following:

Aconditions and limitations: (1) $301,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1998 and $300,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1999 are provided solely for the commission to continue to carry out its mandated duties under the Columbia river gorge national scenic area act

(P.L. 99-663).

(2) $59,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1998 and $58,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 1999 are provided solely for a program to monitor implementation of the Columbia river gorge management plan.@

EFFECT: Restores funding to the Columbia River Gorge Commission and provides an additional $117,000 for the Commission to implement a program to monitor implementation of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area Management plan.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Increases General Fund-State by $283,000.

Increases Other Funds by $228,000.
